As spring begins, the pair arrive in the seaside town of Levale to investigate the disappearance of a number of church and military officials. Locals don't trust outsiders, so the two men will have to become members of the community in order to uncover its dark secrets.
The nearer they come to finding out what has prompted the violence and who might be guilty, the clearer it becomes that there may be no one they can trust. Will the paladin and his assistant find the truth in time to avoid being abducted or killed?
